Departure/arrival: hike car park: Les Aires
Starting from the village of Les Aires, this itinerary will take you to the heart of the St-Michel forest, between single-track paths and forest tracks. The first part, with its rising profile, will take you to the St-Michel chapel, overlooking the ruins of the castle and the medieval village of Mourcairol (11th century). You will continue on a technical terrain to the high point before enjoying a more rolling descent. An ideal route for discovering the local heritage and working on a change of pace on varied terrain. A very homogeneous route that follows the yellow trail from start to finish. Lots of singletrack, some very dry climbs in unstable terrain. The passage through the ruins is nice and the view from the top of the coquillade remarkable.
